One appointment, two time zones: write both down
Use the clinic’s date and China Standard Time alongside your own local date, especially when your home country changes its clocks.
A date that looks convenient on a clinic calendar may fall on a different day where you live. This website labels its preferred appointment times in China Standard Time, UTC+8. Keeping the clinic’s date and your local date together helps prevent a simple calendar error from becoming a missed conversation.
Record the clinic’s time first
Start with the full date, year and time supplied by the care team, followed by “China Standard Time, UTC+8”. Avoid an isolated time such as “10:30” in a message thread. Add the clinician or contact person’s name and the agreed communication channel so the calendar entry has enough context to be useful.
Convert for the actual appointment date
Check the conversion using the time-zone settings on your calendar or device for the date of the appointment. If your home location changes its clocks seasonally, do not reuse an offset from an earlier conversation. A family member joining from a third country should make their own check rather than copying your local time.
Check the day as well as the hour
- Compare both calendar dates, including the day of the week.
- Confirm whether a proposed time is a preference or an accepted appointment.
- Recheck the time after a reschedule or a change of location.
- Include the time zone when replying to a confirmation message.
Treat a reminder as a reminder
A calendar entry helps you remember a plan; it does not establish that a clinic has accepted the booking. Keep the confirmation message with the event and verify the time with the team if anything is unclear. The website’s preferred slots remain subject to separate confirmation.
